Surrounded by the Wadden Sea, Rømø offers an outstanding nature experience. Especially the many breading birds provide the framework for some amazing natural phenomena. During spring and fall you get to see Black Sun, where thousands of starlings cover the sky. The slightly less known phenomena White Sun and Grey sun are just as spectacular. Grey Sun is from mid October to start May, where you get to see giant flocks of arctic geese cover the sky, while White Sun only appears till start March and allows you to experience the many Nordic Swans singing and dancing on there way to warmer places.

Rømø is a small island and therefore does not offer attractions like amusement parks and zoos. At Rømø it is on the other hand the nature that is in focus, allowing you to get a relaxed vacation with plenty of fresh air, relaxation and cosiness. Especially the sea will be in the centre of a vacation on Rømø. Here you find some of the best beaches in Denmark, especially the 13 kilometre long Rømø Beach offers soft sand and plenty of space. At Sønder Beach the wind blows and makes the place perfect for windy activities, like kite-buggy and blocart driving, where you fly across the beach.

If you get tired of lying on the beach and hiking in the beautiful nature, then Rømø is connected with Jutland by bridge, making it easy to take a trip to Jutland and maybe visit the charming town Ribe. You could also combine a holiday in Jutland with a couple of relaxing days on Rømø. The possibilities are plenty, but one thing is for sure, you are guaranteed a god vacation on Rømø.
