Denmark - Møn

2 holiday homes found

Møn has a very unique nature and especially the Cliffs of Møn (Møns Klint) is an extraordinary experience. The Cliffs of Møn is a 6 kilometres long chalk mountain, which spreads along the east coast of Møn. The contrast between the blue ocean and the snow-white cliffs gives a spectacular sight that you do not find anywhere else. By the Cliffs of Møn you also find a beautiful forest with beech trees, rare plant species and mountains. The area is perfect for long peaceful walks. At Geocenter Møns Klint you get to hear the story of the birth of Denmark and the white cliffs.

The long coastline of Møn makes the island perfect for a wide range of water activities. Besides swimming, you can go fishing, roe a kayak, go sailing or try kite surfing. It is also possible to spend the night in a shelter out in the nature overlooking the blue ocean. In the middle of Møn is the city Stege, which is the centre of trade and city life on the island. The city started growing bigger back in the middle ages, which is still visible in the crooked streets, the old town rampart and the city gate (Mølleporten). During summer the city hosts Tuesday markets 5 Tuesdays in a row, with a lot of stalls and fun activities.

Møn is a cosy little island with a lot of nature and culture and if you should want to see some more the island is connected to South Zealand by bridge. You therefore have rich opportunity to have a lovely family vacation on the relaxed island Møn, maybe combined with some trips over to Zealand.
