Welcome to Casacori our beautiful holiday home tastefully and elegantly decorated in Italian style. The apartment is located in a 1,600-century building, which in earlier times was a beautiful palace owned by the wealthy Bianchi family. Still there are some remnants of its beauty, for example the portal of the main intrance, and on the facade, there are still remnants of fascia boards.





Cori is located 50 km. south of Rome in an unspoiled nature, on the slopes of the soft Lepini hills, the countryside and mountains with cattle, horses, birds, olives and vines form the basis for excellent hiking. In January olives are picked, in June poppy fields are seen everywhere, and in September and October the local wine is harvested. All year round frequent traditions take place in the village. For example, the processions where Coresians appear in spectacular historic costumes.






Cori is an excellent starting point to visit Naples, The coast of Amalfi, the beautiful Castelli Romani with its picturesque small medieval towns and not least Rome.



The apartment

Superb holiday apartment close to Rome with room for up to 6 people.


The apartment, with its marble floors and five-meter high ceilings, is very elegant and tasteful decorated in classic Italian style. The apartment is very centrally placed in the upper part of Cori and there are only a few stairs to the apartment at 1 floor in the 1600-century old palace.


From the living room and balcony, there is an amazing 360-degree panoramic view over the Pontina plain; looking down over the old Cori and the city Cisterna located out in plain, and against the Lepini hills with their beautiful olive groves and vineyards. In the distant you can spot the Mediterranean blue border and the Ponza islands, the cities Latina, Velletri and Anzio. From the balcony one can look down into the small picturesque garden, which belongs to the appartment.


In the garden there are a variety of Mediterranean plants: roses, succulents, oleanders, cypresses, palm, lemon and orange trees and wines. From the garden, there is a beautiful view over the plains to the Mediterranean. There is plenty of room for comfort on the terrace with garden furniture in the shade under the Pergola; may be with a bottle of the fresh local red or white wine on the table. The garden also has a cantina, which is used for storing garden furniture and utensils.

The apartment consists of the following rooms: A dining room with high wing doors to the balcony, a large dining table, a comfortable sofa bed, desk, stereo and CD with various music genres. A living room with TV, DVDs and CDs with movies for both children and adults. In the long entrance hall there is a library with various tourist guides and maps of Italy, Rome and the region.



Furthermore, the apartment comes with a very large bedroom, with grandiose very high ceiling made of kastaine wood and a large wall-to-wall wardrobe. Another small bedroom held in blue marble and with panoramic views from the window. Both rooms are equipped with double beds with orthopedic mattresses, duvets and pillows.



The kitchen has a dining table and in-built cupboards. It is extremely well equipped with every imaginable service, which provides for diverse culinary efforts of the excellent Italian commodities brought home from the local market, such as frutta di mare ( 'sea fruit'), fresh vegetables and fruit, or ham, Parmesan cheese, melon and the local bread baked 'al forno', ie. in an open fire place. The kitchen is equipped with an efficient stove, a combined electric and gas cooker and a refrigerator with freezer. From the very high kitchen window, there are beautiful views of the hilly mountains around Cori.

There are two bathrooms at opposite ends of the apartment: A small bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. A larger bathroom that comes with sit bathtub, washbasin, bidet, toilet and hair dryer.

Besides the one bathroom is a laundry room with sink, washing machine, irons and drying racks. There is also a 'caladaio' that regulates the hot water.

Besides this is a minor storage room with cleaners, vacuum cleaner and various tools.


Cori

Cori is picturesque village, located 384 above sea level in the Lepini hills, 50 km. south of Rome. The town has around 10,000 inhabitants and is well functioning with schools, hospital and many small local shops and supermarkets. Cori (the ancient Cora) is dated older than Rome and the village is very charming, with its grandiose ancient Cyclopean city walls, town gates and the remnants of temples from antiquity.
As typical of Italian hill towns Cori is no exception: There are many small and large open spaces and squares with narrow streets that wind up the hilly side toward the top, where you end up in Piazza Signina, one of the major squares. Here are - just like in the lower part of the town – various shops, restaurants and bars. Here the Italian animated daily life and manners can be observed as well as occasional traditional parades and celebrations. 40 minutes drive to the best beaches.

Cori have various restaurants where the local cuisine can be enjoyed.

At the local winegrowers, for example at Marco Carpineto located just outside the city, really good organic red and white wine can be purchased to small prices. Also in the wine cooperative Cincinatto have good DOC wines at extremely reasonable prices.





Cori and other attractions
Coris is located very central to many famous attractions. Here just a few examples:
Rome with its world famous unique attractions can be reached in 45 minutes: Take the car or local bus to the train station in Cisterna (8 km.). Then take the train to Termini station in Rome (29 minutes). From there there is a 10 minutes walk to the Coliseum, the Forum Romano and a host of other spectacular attractions.



A day-trip north to the Castelli Romani area is strongly recommended.

Visit Frascati, which is famous for the many sumptuous villas and refreshing white wines. Take a walk in the city's streets, which buzzes with life. The city has various fancy specialist shops and Cantinas, where the local wine can be tasted and bought. Discover public life in the many open places with their shady plane trees and palms.

Nemi is a small picturesque town in the Castelli Romana area. Nemi has a magnificent view over the volcanic Lake Nemi with its hilly forests and to the town of Genzano and the Mediterranean sea. Every Sunday Roman families pilgrimage to the town where they visit to local restaurants and the city park.

Take a trip to Castel Gandolfo, the pope's summer residence, and experience the magnificent views over the volcanic Lake Albania. When the pope is present, the Swiss guards in their colorful uniforms can be seen. Castel Gabdolfo also tasteful souvenir shops and restaurants.

Tivoli is located in the Sabini hills, shortly east of Rome. A famous attraction is the Villa d`Este renaissance garden with its hundreds of fountains, which fetch water from the Aniene river. Also visit Hadrian’s Villa, a large city-like construction of ancient buildings. A large part of the Vatican antique galleries comes from excavations of the villa area.

Visit Oasis of Ninfa, located just south of Cori. Ninfa is an old ruined town, also known as the medieval Pompeii. Today, the area is designated as a wonderful subtropical garden worth visiting in all seasons.

Anzio

Furthermore, a string of pearls of picturesque 'undiscovered' medieval villages are scattered in the area around Cori.

In San Felice Cicero, southwest of Cori, you can go for a walk in the national park, located on a mountain stretching out in the Mediterranean sea. From several places you can enjoy the magnificent views over
Mediterranean sea and in clear weather Vesuvius can be spotted in the south as well as the dome of Saint Peter in Rome to the north. Moreover, the area known for its seaside caves; in one of them Europe's only Neanderthal has been found. Visit also the historic town center, where restaurants among other dishes serve "frutta de mare" - fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Terracina a bit further south is also worth a visit with its tasteful shops, restaurants, coastline, the relaxed seaside life and the famous Anzur temple.

Beach life can be enjoyed at Sabaudia, as well. Here there is a beautiful wide sandy beach. But there are several other places with many miles of well-maintained sandy beaches along the coast, up to the Lido outside Rome.

At the Lido Latina, approx. 20 km. from Cori the "Miami Beach" is placed, a huge outdoor water park.

Further south lure Naples, Vesuvius, Herculaneum, Pompeii and the wonderful coast of Amalfi and the Sorrento Bay.
